Aye aye aye. First and foremost, I'm from SoCal. I'm not a big fan of the polos. No thank you. However, I found a really cute black polo at Old Navy for $7. Fabulous. I don't have a windbreaker and don't really intend on buying one to be honest. Not a fan of those either. Besides, if it rains, isn't that umbrellas are for?
I am pretty much packed already, except for the fact that I need to pack. Hahaha... I have an outfit planned for everyday according to the weather forecast and some backup options as well. I never thought I would be excited to visit the midwest but I know I will have such a great time and we have so many activities planned.
Since my Handy-Man hero is quite the Indy 500 enthusiast, he's been basically keeping me in tune with what's going on. We've watched lots of specials on TV, tuned in for Poll Day and so on. I now know the drivers, their names and some of their teams, but still need help with cars and numbers. I plan on cheering for Danica Patrick, Graham Rahal, Tony Kanaan and Helio Castroneves (and no I'm not cheering for him because of DWTS). Sarah Fisher is pretty cool and so is Ryan Briscoe. Oh and Scott Dixon. And Dan Wheldon. I dunno. I'm going to the Indy 500 and as long as I get to watch race cars going over 220mph, I'm all good.
Chicago will be amazing, too. I want to go to Navy Pier/Lakeshore Drive and the Bean. We're obvi going to Wrigley for the Cubs vs. Pirates game which will be SO awesome. I'm thinking I might want to hunt for Oprah, give her a wave or two. That would be cool. Gotta love her.
So yeah, that's basically it. I know it sounds silly, but I'm ready for vacation. I mean, my life isn't strenuous or anything, but I just can't wait to have my boytoy show me around, take me to the places where he grew up, can't wait to meet his friends and of course, can't wait for Tim and Kathe! Oh, and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have to dig into some red meat... or possibly mystery meat aka hot dogs. And corn. And Drew taught me how to say "go*damn" in hick. I'm stoked.
I'll be taking lots and lots of cool pics. And also will be on the lookout for mullets. If I see one, I'm snappin' my camera and posting it on here. I love the "business up front, party in the back" ways.
