Mom, Dad and Chester Manley came out for a quick visit this previous weekend. I guess they missed Lyss and I or something... but seriously, I'm glad they came. We decided to celebrate Mom's birthday last weekend by going to Macayo's with Drew and Weston. Mom surprised the boys with the family heirloom birthday hat. Lyss and I refrained from telling Drew and Wes about our hat tradition, so the looks on their faces were pretty hysterical when they finally saw my Mom with her lovely un-coordinating hat.
Macayo's was great! Mom got a little birthday dessert that no one really wanted to eat. No one sang "happy birthday" to her though, so I gave her a rendition of my Yakotinesian style (don't ask). We retreated back to Mom and Dad's hotel to play Catch Phrase. Handy-Man wasn't too excited about the game, but overall, he and I kicked some ass. There were a few clues he gave me that I must say were god-awful, but thanks to my brilliance, we were able to pull through. JK JK. I just like to tease him about it.
At the end of the couple's battles, we decided to do girls against boys. I'm pretty sure the guys meshed well together, picking categories like sports and teams and sci-tech. Mom, Lyss and I stayed on the entertainment side. I think it was funny how Lyss and I were able to chime in on each other. I think we were mind-melting because Lyss would say one word clues and I would know them. Mom on the other hand... not so much. The boys kept glancing at each other probably thinking that we're crazy or something. Go figure.
Anyway, it was a great time and I know we all enjoyed each other's company. Here are some pics from the evening...
