It's official, Drew and I took the man out of our little boy. He got neutered on Tuesday... and his has to wear the cone of shame.
It makes me so sad. Since he is crate trained, he has to maneuver in the crate with the cone and you can hear him banging his cone against the crate. He still doesn't understand the concept of it... the only thing he understands is that "he does not like the cone of shame." He has been a very good boy with a healthy appetite and all that. His stitches have to stay dry, hence the cone, so we've been monitoring him. Since he can't do too much physical activity, which by the way is impossible for a beagle, we just let him hang out with us while he chews his rope or other toys. The vet and nurses said he did very well during the process of de-man-ing him. They were surprised he didn't bark or howl when he started coming out of anesthesia. Actually, I'm still surprised he doesn't have a bark. He has puppy dreams sometimes where he has howled and barked a little bit, but it scares him when he wakes himself up. Wouldn't it be awesome if we had a beagle that didn't bark?? Wow.
Anywho, that's the update on Mommy's little conehead.
